Report: Jarell Quansah's Liverpool buy-back clause details revealed as 'extremely positive' verdict shared

Jarell Quansah looks likely to be the next Liverpool player to exit Anfield.

The centre-back’s future has been constantly spoken about over the last few weeks, with it feeling obvious that the 22-year-old or Joe Gomez would be sold this summer.

Quansah didn’t get as much game time as he deserved last season, which is likely one of the main reasons why he’s seeking a way out.

The deal with Bayer Leverkusen is said to be worth more than £25million when bonuses are included, with Liverpool having a buy-back clause inserted into the deal.

And now, some new details have emerged regarding that clause.

Liverpool’s buy-back clause for Jarell Quansah is worth around £51million and cannot be activated until 2027

As mentioned, Richard Hughes managed to insert a buy-back clause in the deal for Quansah to allow Liverpool to have first dibs on the Englishman should he manage to fulfil his potential.

There have been many different fees reported regarding this clause, but now German outlet Kicker have revealed how much it’s actually worth.

The report outlines that if Liverpool ever wanted to bring the defender back, the buy-back clause is worth a ‘fixed fee’ of more than €60 million (£51million).

Kicker also adds that this clause was what made the deal ‘possible’ in the first place, which shows Liverpool have faith in the youngster.

In addition to the fee being revealed, Kicker also outlines that it can only be activated in 2027.

However, even if Liverpool do activate it, then it would still end up being an ‘extremely positive’ deal for Leverkusen as they’ll have doubled their investment.

Richard Hughes has undertaken yet another masterstroke with the Jarell Quansah deal

Many fans didn’t think Hughes was going to be as effective as he has been this season due to the lack of business Liverpool did last term.

This summer, however, something has just clicked with the Anfield outfit, as they have already signed Florian Wirtz and Jeremie Frimpong.

Indeed, selling players such as Quansah and potentially Harvey Elliott isn’t usually the way things go at Liverpool, but if they want to remain competitive and bolster their ranks, some of their young talents will have to be moved on.

Only time will tell what the future holds, but with the way things have kicked off this summer, Liverpool’s fans are in for a whirlwind ride, especially with Arne Slot at the helm.
