Arsenal’s pursuit of RB Leipzig’s Benjamin striker Sesko has been well-documented, with the 22-year-old being touted as a potential solution to the Gunners’ problem upfront.

However, according to former Arsenal midfielder Ray Parlour, Sesko has a significant weakness that he needs to improve on – his aerial ability.

“Sesko has got everything going for him,” Parlour told talkSPORT. “He’s a young lad, he can improve, he’s strong, he’s quick. He’s not great in the air, he can do better in the air probably, if I’m being honest. But he’s on their radar.”

Parlour believes that Sesko has the potential to become a top-class striker, but his limitations in the air could be a major issue for Arsenal. “It’s not rocket science, is it? It’s glaring at you,” Parlour said, emphasizing the need for a top striker this summer.

Arsenal have been linked with several top strikers this summer, including Sesko and Sporting’s Viktor Gyokeres. Parlour expects one of these two players to join the Gunners, saying, “I think it is going to be out of one of those strikers I should imagine. Gyokeres has obviously been linked to Manchester United, but it sounds like he wants to go to Arsenal.”

Parlour is positive about Martin Zubimendi’s impending arrival from Real Sociedad, saying it will give Declan Rice more license to get forward. “Zubimendi looks like he’s going to be signed as well, which gives Declan Rice a little bit more license to get forward,” he said. “Thomas Partey is staying, so he’s another member in that squad who can play central midfield.”

Parlour also believes that Arsenal need to strengthen their options out wide, saying, “I think they will go for another winger as well. I think that’s quite important because when Saka was out last season, they did struggle a little bit.”

Despite Arsenal’s disappointing season, Parlour believes that the Gunners have a great chance of winning the Premier League title next season – as long as they are a little luckier with injuries. “Liverpool deserved to win the league, there’s no doubt about that, but they didn’t get a lot of injuries to key players,” he said. “I think Arsenal have got to learn from last season and if they can get a little luckier with injuries, they’ve got a great chance again.”

With the summer transfer window in full swing, Arsenal fans will be eagerly watching to see if Sesko or Gyokeres joins the team. One thing is certain – the Gunners need a top-class striker to challenge for the title.
