The Dallas Mavericks are sure to select Duke forward Cooper Flagg with the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NBA draft. The San Antonio Spurs are expected to take Rutgers guard Dylan Harper at No. 2.
After that, there are any number of possibilities with some players rising, others falling and teams across the league feverishly working the phones to discuss trade scenarios.
The Sacramento Kings will be on the outside looking in when the draft gets underway on Wednesday. Their first-round pick, the 13th overall selection, belongs to the Atlanta Hawks.
The Kings have reportedly talked about making a trade to acquire a first-round pick from another team. Barring a trade, they will have to wait until Thursday to make their second-round selection with the 42nd overall pick.
The Kings held nine known pre-draft workouts, bringing at least 54 prospects to their Golden 1 Center practice facility. Those workouts featured numerous players who are projected as second-round picks, but none who are expected to be first-round picks.
