Chelsea have defensive signings as one of the top priorities this summer. They are set to sign some new defenders as many of the current ones will leave. Firstly, both Disasi and Veiga are set to be sold for sure. In addition, all Chalobah, Badiashile and Fofana find their future uncertain at West London.
Hence, the Blues are likely to sign atleast two defenders. They are keen to stick with their plans of signing young players. As of now, they have multiple targets across whole Europe. One of them is Jorrel Hato who is only 19 years old and currently plays for Ajax.
Hato can play as both left back and centre back. This makes him a key target for Chelsea this summer. He will be a perfect replacement for Renato Veiga. In addition, he can be a long-term investement. Ajax want around €50 million for Hato.
Arsenal have strong interest in Jorrel Hato
According to Charles Watts who wrote for Caught Offside, Gunners hold a long term interest in Jorrel Hato. He added that they might hold talks with Hato’s agents in london in coming weeks. The North London giants have explored the move for 19 year old on multiple occasions.
Later, Watts added that Arsenal do have space for Hato in their squad. Tierney has left and now Zinchenko is also set to leave. Hence, they can make a move for Dutch youngster although already having Kiwior and Calafiori. This will come as a blow for Chelsea. It will be interesting to see in which part of london will Hato end up if he decides to move this summer.
