David Moyes is set to revitalise his Everton side this summer, ready to push further up the Premier League table next term.

Moyes has made no secret of his intention to recruit younger players this summer, with a fairly ageing Toffees squad as it stands.

However, even those who should be hitting their peak years could find themselves pushed out of the way for new faces, with Dwight McNeil potentially at risk.

Moyes wants Omari Hutchinson

After Ipswich Town were relegated back to the Championship last season, all eyes are on their best players in the hope of some cheaper summer recruitment.

Omari Hutchinson didn’t have his best season in a struggling side, but was a rare positive for the Tractor Boys, with Liam Delap already moving on.

MORE TOFFEES STORIES

The 21-year-old has also proved to be impressive for England at the Under-21 European Championship, and is catching the eye of Premier League sides.

Everton are one of those interested, with Moyes hoping to recruit him in preparation for the new campaign.

If the Blues do want his services this summer, they would be required to meet a valuation of £30million, a deal that is not out of reach for Everton under The Friedkin Group.

Ben Doak and James McAtee have also been linked with moves to join Everton at Bramley-Moore Dock, and while this may excite supporters, McNeil could be worried.

McNeil could be at risk at Everton

McNeil made 21 Premier League appearances for Everton at Goodison Park last season, adding 10 goal contributions along the way.

Player Appearances Goals Assists

McNeil 21 4 6

Hutchinson 31 3 2

Hutchinson could thrive in a good team.

However, with Moyes seemingly looking at new options for Everton, it could signal a change is coming, especially with younger options identified and injuries hitting hard.

With the competition for Hutchinson this summer, he would surely only make a move to Merseyside if he was guaranteed to be the first choice, but that would possibly require McNeil taking a reduced role.

The current Everton option is not the quickest player either, so if Moyes could find a quicker winger, they would surely become a preferred option.

McNeil will have plenty to give the Toffees still, but whether he would be happy to settle for a place on the bench going forward is yet to be seen.
