‘There is something’: Chances of Wolves launching ‘imminent bid’ for £15m target explored -…

Wolves, like many clubs, hold interest in Nicolas Raskin, but the Old Gold aren’t close to submitting an offer, sources close to Molineux News understand.

Two and a half years after making Glasgow home, there’s a chance that Raskin could be on his way to the Midlands.

Both Wolves and rivals Aston Villa are interested in the midfielder, who took the 2024/25 Scottish Premiership by storm.

Wolves have already bolstered in midfield by signing Fer Lopez, but what is the likelihood that Raskin will follow?

Wolves not close to submitting Nico Raskin bid

Wolves fans are sold on the idea of signing Raskin, who, from central midfield, contributed to 16 goals for Rangers last season.

The Belgium international has been linked with a move to the Premier League, and to get the lowdown on the extent of the Old Gold’s interest, we sought the opinion of TBR’s Graeme Bailey.

Speaking exclusively to Molineux News, Bailey explained that while Wolves’ admiration for the player is known, an offer is unlikely to be tabled anytime soon.

“There is something in that, I do know that Wolves are one of a number of Premier League clubs who have been keeping abreast of Raskin’s progress.

“Whether that would result in an imminent bid, I don’t believe that’s the case, but they do like him.”

The transfer expert went on to explain that, while Raskin is similar to Joao Gomes, it’s difficult to imagine the 24-year-old getting into Vitor Pereira’s starting XI.

“Is a player of his type a priority? I’d be surprised given Andre and Joao Gomes, he’s not getting in that Wolves team at the minute.”

Tommy Doyle is set to leave Wolves in some capacity this summer, whether it be permanently or on loan, which could prompt a player of Raskin’s profile to be explored further.

“That doesn’t mean they wouldn’t sign him, of course, we know Doyle is probably leaving, there will be room in the squad, I think Raskin is certainly on their radar,” Bailey said.

Raskin can offer Wolves a lot

It’s believed thatWolves could twist Rangers’ arm with an offer above £15m for Raskin, which is £5m below the Scottish club’s record transfer sale.

Such would be a bargain price for a player who is on the up, recently becoming a regular for the Belgium national team.

As seen above, Raskin thrives in many areas, being a keen tackler and also a threat going forward, making comparisons to Gomes understandable.

At 24, it would be difficult to imagine the Rangers star settling for a place outside of Wolves’ starting XI, but that won’t deter the Old Gold from testing the water for the combative midfielder.
