Barca and Monaco to split Ansu’s wages as part of loan deal

Barcelona and Monaco are set to go halves on Ansu Fati’s salary next season as part of a loan deal that will see the forward spend the season in France.

According to Jijantes, Monaco wanted to pay just 30% of his salary but Barcelona refused and so the two clubs have decided to split the bill instead.

Fati is now set to extend his contract with Barcelona for another season before heading to the Ligue 1 side for a medical and to complete the deal.

Barcelona are also expected to include a purchase option of €11 million in the transfer to give Monaco the option of securing Fati on a permanent basis if he impresses.

Fati has been in Uruguay this week for Ronald Araujo’s wedding but will now switch his focus to the new season ahead, with Monaco players due to return for pre-season at the start of next week.
