Man Utd-linked midfielder who will be free agent in 2026 now breaks silence over Old Trafford interest,‘I’m very…’

A Champions League-winning midfielder has now responded to the transfer rumours linking him with a stunning move to Manchester United this summer.

Ruben Amorim could look to sign a new midfielder in the summer transfer window amid his major rebuild of the Manchester United first-team squad at Old Trafford.

Christian Eriksen is set to leave Old Trafford this summer after his contract with United expires and Ruben Amorim has limited options for midfielders.

Amorim was forced to rotate his United midfield in the 2024-25 Premier League campaign amid injuries to the likes of Kobbie Mainoo and Toby Collyer.

The 40-year-old United manager endured a tough start to life at Old Trafford after he replaced former Ajax boss Erik ten Hag in the dugout last November.

Erik ten Hag was sacked as United manager last October after a poor start to the 2024-25 Premier League season and the Red Devils immediately signed Amorim.

Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka asked about Man Utd transfer interest amid the FIFA Club World Cup

Leon Goretzka has been linked with Manchester United in the past and the 30-year-old German midfielder is once again being tipped with a move to Old Trafford.

The Germany international is away with Bayern Munich at the revamped FIFA Club World Cup, which is being held in North America this summer.

Bayern faced Benfica on Tuesday in their Group C encounter and the reigning German champions suffered a shock 1-0 defeat at the Bank of America Stadium.

Leon Goretzka was on the bench for Bayern and manager Vincent Kompany left him as an unused substitute in the 1-0 loss to Benfica in North Carolina.

Journalist Christian Falk has claimed that United are ‘interested’ in Goretzka and he asked the Germany international about the ‘rumours’ linking him with the Red Devils.

“I’m very focused on the tournament here and am happy to be at Bayern,” he said, as per FC Bayern Insider.

“I want to help the team next season as well.”

Man Utd-linked Leon Goretzka could leave Bayern Munich as a free agent in 2026

Leon Goretzka has made 41 appearances for Bayern Munich in the 2024-25 season and the Germany midfielder has netted five times and registered two assists.

The Bayern star has been at the Allianz Arena since 2018 after Goretzka left German side Schalke and signed for the Bavarians.

Goretzka has found success during his spell at Bayern, including lifting six Bundesliga titles, a Champions League trophy and two German Cups.

However, the United-linked player’s future remains uncertain at the Allianz Arena and Goretzka’s current contract with Bayern will expire in 2026.
