Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has recently spoke about the future of one attacker. The Blues signed the player for £52 million. It seems that his days at West London are over judging from manager’s quotes.
Chelsea are currently busy in the club world cup. They have been qualified for round of 16 after latest win. On the other hand, the board is busy monitoring top players in transfer market. They have already signed Liam Delap for £30 million who is now first choice striker.
But, the Blues are also in need of selling some current players. This will help them to open up space and comply with PSR. Hence, many under performing stars are linked with exit whereas some as said to leave in order to play regularly. One such star is Christopher Nkunku.
Chelsea signed Nkunku for £52 million after his superb form for Leipzig. But, this deal has not went well for both parties. Nkunku has failed to impress at West London and he has also suffered injury issues. He is now way behind in pecking order of Enzo Maresca.
Chelsea boss speaks about Nkunku’s future
Recently, Nkunku has been linked with multiple clubs across whole Europe. He also has interest from Premier League. This resulted in Enzo Maresca being asked about the 27 year old’s future. Maresca’s response suggests that Nkunku is likely to move away this summer.
“If Christo is here with us, it is because we think he can help us and he can be with us even next season. But as you said, there are many speculations, not just about Christo, about many players” – Maresca’s quotes as reported by Express.
“And then if something is going to happen, I don’t know because we said many times when the transfer window is open, anything can happen in terms of players that can arrive or players that can leave” – Maresca about Nkunku’s future.
Judging from Maresca’s response, it seems that Nkunku has no future at Stamford Bridge. The player is also pushing for the move as he wants to play regularly. He is now 27 years old and hence will not want to spend most of the time sitting on the bench.
