San Antonio Spurs sensation Victor Wembanyama has packed on some muscle after an unusual offseason training experience—with monks.
In a recent appearance on Kevin Hart’s Cold as Balls show, Wembanyama shared that much of his diet during that time consisted of zucchini and rice noodles, which made it tough to keep on weight.
To stay fueled, the rising NBA star admitted he had to sneak out for some meat to balance the monk-friendly meals.
That effort has clearly paid off. Wemby told Hart he now weighs 245 pounds (111 kg)—a 10-pound increase from the start of the 2023-24 season, when he was listed at 235 pounds (106.5 kg).
It’s also a significant jump from his rookie year listing of 210 pounds (95 kg), marking a total gain of 35 pounds (16 kg) since entering the league.
Ahead of his rookie campaign, Wembanyama drew massive attention, including a crowd of over 13,000 fans at an open practice, and was already making headlines for his physique. At the time, the Spurs had him listed at 230 pounds (104 kg) before training camp.
For those wondering about the latest Wembanyama height, the French star revealed that he's 7-foot-5 (2.26-meter) with shoes on and 7'3.5" without the shoes. NBA officially lists Wemby at 7'3".
"My conditioning and physical condition are way, way better than any time in my life," Wembanyama said via Jeff McDonald from San Antonio Express-News.
