Player Wolves scouted could be on the move after £25m transfer, he could replace Ait-Nouri -…

Wolves scouted a player last summer who completed a transfer to the Premier League, and now, he’s been linked to a move once more.

The 2024 summer transfer window was a bright one for Wolves, although the Old Gold missed out on bolstering the position they needed most.

A centre-back shortage was detrimental to the first half of the 2024/25 campaign for Gary O’Neil, prompting Vitor Pereira to welcome two central defenders in January to fill the void.

This summer, emphasis will be on the defence again, but in an entirely different role, as Wolves will experience change at full-back.

Ferdi Kadioglu linked to Brighton transfer exit

Rayan Ait-Nouri has made a bright start at Manchester City after leaving Wolves in time to make Pep Guardiola’s Club World Cup squad.

As well as the Algerian, Wolves are expected to lose Nelson Semedo, who has yet to decide on his future before his contract expires on June 30th.

Hugo Bueno will return to the club after a successful loan spell at Feyenoord, but the Old Gold will certainly need to recruit in the wide areas, given the importance of the role in the way Pereira’s squad plays.

Such could make one former target of interest once more, as Ferdi Kadioglu could be on the move again this summer.

MORE WOLVES STORIES

Wolves scouted Kadioglu after his impressive performances for Turkey at Euro 2024, but the left-back signed for Brighton and Hove Albion in a £25m deal.

Just a year after his transfer to the Amex, it’s been reported by Turkish outlet Hurriyet that the 25-year-old is attracting interest at his former club Fenerbahce, who have reason to believe they could acquire the defender on loan.

It would be a surprise to see Kadioglu return to Fenerbahce a year after leaving the club, but with a loan possibility uttered, Wolves must explore a potential opening.

Kadioglu represents the ideal Rayan Ait-Nouri replacement

At Euro 2024, Kadioglu earned high praise for his contribution at the tournament, both in the final third and in defence.

When looking at what Ait-Nouri did for Wolves over the 2024/25 campaign, it’s clear to see what the Old Gold need to replace, and Kadioglu is the perfect fit.

Rayan Ait-Nouri 24/25 Premier League vs Ferdi Kadioglu 23/24 Super Lig – Sofascore

Comparing Ait-Nouri’s 2024/25 season in the Premier League and Kadioglu’s 2023/24 season in the Turkish Super Lig, the pair’s similarities are there for all to see.

Kadioglu’s debut season in the Premier League was decimated due to injury, and now, Wolves could give the Turk the chance to get his career back on track.

It remains to be seen how serious Fenerbahce are about re-recruiting their former star, which will be telling as to whether the Old Gold can find a way in.
