West Ham United have been chasing a move for Club Brugge midfielder Raphael Onyedika in recent weeks.
Onyedika caught West Ham’s eye after a string of impressive displays in the Champions League last season, which included a goal in the Belgian outfit’s defeat at Manchester City.
The 24-year-old has established himself as a key man in the middle of the park for Brugge, and has also received plenty of caps for Nigeria.
Graham Potter and Co. will need to be shrewd with their business this summer, given the PSR cloud that is looming over them at the moment, but that hasn’t deterred them in their pursuit.

West Ham lead the race for Onyedika
Potter will be keen to oversee plenty of changes at the London Stadium this summer, following such a disastrous campaign last time out.

The midfield has been an area of the Hammers’ squad that has needed addressing for some time now, and it finally looks as though they could get the addition they need in Onyedika.
The East Londoners are currently thought to be in pole position to sign the Brugge star, according to reputable Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri via X (25 June).
Everton are understood to be rivalling West Ham in their pursuit, but the E20 outfit are the believed to have shown the most concrete interest in Onyedika at present.
It is expected that it will take an offer of close to £25million for a deal to be secured.
Sullivan needs to cough up for Onyedika
David Sullivan has received plenty of criticism for West Ham’s transfer business over the years, and there will surely be concerns that the links with Onyedika could see the Hammers’ chief get up to his same old tricks.
All too often in recent years, West Ham have been linked with promising talents from across Europe, and Sullivan has delayed a deal to the point where they end up not getting the signing over the line.
It’s possible that he could be at it again on this occasion.

Sullivan has been made aware of the asking price for the Nigerian international, and it should be a simple deal for the club to pull off if he just stumps up the money and pays.
Onyedika’s recent injury record is a cause for some minor concern, but he is a midfielder who is capable of making the step up to the Premier League, and West Ham will surely regret it if they lose out on him.
