Leeds United are in search of full-backs this summer, with Junior Firpo leaving them without a specialist at left-back.
In terms of a left-footed player, Firpo is the only one Leeds United have. Now, Firpo is heading to Real Betis when his contract expires at the end of this month.
Leeds have already been linked with numerous left-backs to replace him. At least one is required and the current links include Konstantinos Tsimikas, Hugo Bueno, Ben Davies, Max Aarons and more.
Gabriel Gudmundsson of Lille is on Leeds’ shortlist and Leeds are said to have held talks with Alex Moreno from Aston Villa. However, new names crop up all the time.

Leeds’ Red Bull link to Lukas Ullrich explained
Following a Leeds link to Nathaniel Brown of Eintracht Frankfurt last week, TBR Football are now reporting on Spurs and Leeds’ interest in Borussia Monchengladbach’s 21-year-old left-back Lukas Ullrich.
Graeme Bailey, transfer expert for Leeds United News and TBR, explained the latest to us. He said: “Ullrich is a player that a lot of clubs really took notice of in the second-half of last season.
“He is a very good player, who has impressed a number of scouts in England, including Spurs.

“Leeds are also one of those clubs who have watched him. They knew early on that they needed a new left-back. Leeds, through their Red Bull connections, have done their work on him and they like what they have seen.

“Gladbach want him to stay and are talking to him about a new deal, but with interest increasing from the Premier League, it might not be easy for them to tie him down.”
Leeds need at least one left-back this summer, and the list of potential options continues to grow all the time. Ullrich had an impressive season with Daniel Farke’s former side and it appears the Whites are keeping tabs on him as an option.

Leeds could also be in the mix for Quentin Merlin
Ullrich is clearly “one of many” in Bailey’s words to us, he added: “He is clearly one of many they are considering for the role, alongside Nathaniel Brown and Gabriel Gudmundsson as they search for a Junior Firpo replacement.”
However, he added a new name as one to keep an eye on. He told us: “I would certainly throw Quentin Merlin’s name in to the mix for Leeds, too.”
Merlin is a 23-year-old French left-back for Marseille, but he is potentially available this summer after just one impressive season with the French giants, as per La Provence via GFFN.
An unnamed Premier League and Bundesliga side are interested in signing Merlin, which could well be Leeds per Bailey’s response.
