Aston Villa are reportedly exploring the possibility of bringing Cristhian Mosquera to Villa Park this summer.
Dr Rajpal Brar, an injury expert, has gauged the fitness record of the Valencia centre-back as he would need to clear a medical before completing his transfer.
Unai Emery’s side narrowly missed out on Champions League qualification and will be aiming for a top-four or top-five finish next season.

Mosquera to clear medical without any issues
The 20-year-old’s fitness record bodes well for his potential medical as well as adaptation to life in the Premier League, believes Dr Brar.

Emery was even spotted in Valencia just days after the news broke about his side’s interest in the Spain Under-21s international defender.

Speaking about this situation, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, told Villa News: “He seems to have an ideal injury history, which bodes well for any club looking to sign him.
“Last season, he played 37 league games and 90 minutes in nearly all of them.
“This is a positive with regards to him clearing his medical, but also about adapting to a new league.
“Players tend to struggle with fitness issues when they move from Spain.”

Aston Villa may consider Mosquera’s investment as one for the future
Aston Villa should prioritise signing Mosquera, as at 20, he represents a shrewd long-term investment with immediate first-team potential.
His 90 appearances for Valencia, despite his youth, showcase his composure, physicality, and ball-playing ability, ideal for Emery’s system.
With Tyrone Mings’ injury concerns, Mosquera offers depth alongside Pau Torres and Ezri Konsa.
His £21million price tag is reasonable, given his Spain U-21 status and potential to develop into a top-tier defender.
Securing him now, before interest from other clubs intensifies, ensures the Villa Park outfit gain a future star who can contribute instantly while growing in value.
