According to Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times, Bulls executive Arturas Karnisovas has become “more responsive to trade talks than in the past,” with Williams reportedly “atop Karnisovas’ list” of trade candidates.

Williams, 23, is entering the second year of a five-year, $90 million contract signed in 2024, which includes a player option for the 2028–29 season.

Last season, he averaged 9.0 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 2.0 assists over 63 games, playing about 25 minutes per contest. He shot 39.7% from the field and 35.3% from three-point range.

Chicago finished the 2024–25 season with a 39–43 record, missing the playoffs after falling to the Miami Heat in the Play-In Tournament.
