It's time for the midweek notebook with Newcastle United leaving no stone unturned
Malick Fofana's agent has namedropped Newcastle United as possible destination for Lyon star.
Newcastle United are keeping tabs on today and tomorrow when it comes to their recruitment process.
Chronicle Live understands United talent spotters are currently active at UEFA's Under-21 European Championships in Slovakia as they look to cast the net out wider. Among those catching the eye has been German forward Nick Woltemade who is the top scorer at the Euros with The 23-year-old has netted five goals in just three matches for his country.
The Stuttgart star netted 12 times in the Bundesliga last season after making the move from Werder Bremen. Also impressing before Portugal's exit to Holland in Slovakia was Geovany Quenda of Sporting Lisbon.

Djaoui Cisse of France has also netted three goals from midfield at the Euros. The 21-year-old can operate in a defensive midfield position or further up the pitch in an attacking role.
Cisse plies his trade at Rennes and has used the tournament as a stage to attract admirers. Newcastle are eager to unearth hidden gems as they look to find players they can make it into stars with asking prices of established stars clearly an issue.
Park Seung-Soo suggestions are accurate
The Magpies have indeed declared their interest in the 18-year-old after the media in South Korea broke the story on the teenager and Newcastle this week.
There's no deal done yet but sources at St James' Park have hinted that it could be a transfer completed later in the window. Currently at Suwon Bluewings, the youngster has previously interested both Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich.

This has led to talk of a mass exodus at Lyon with youngster Malick Fofana one of the key talents available in any potential fire sale. Both Liverpool and Chelsea have been tracking the 20-year-old and he is valued at £40m with one Belgium cap to his name.
Whether a cheaper fee might tempt English clubs remains to be seen but again he is another on Newcastle's radar via their French scouting network.
