Liverpool Starlet Added to West Ham Wishlist

West Ham insider ExWHUEmployee has revealed that the Hammers are chasing Liverpool and England U21 midfielder Tyler Morton.

The 22-year-old Liverpool academy graduate broke into the senior squad in 2021, debuting in the EFL Cup before making appearances in both the Premier League and Champions League. After signing a long-term contract in January 2023, Morton spent the 2022–23 season on loan at Blackburn Rovers and last season at Hull City, where he was named EFL Young Player of the Month.

Morton featured in England U21’s 3-1 win over Spain last week and is expected to start against the Netherlands tonight in the European Championship semi-finals.

Speaking on The West Ham Way, Ex said:

“As we have reported before, West Ham have been keeping an eye on the European Under-21 Championships—both on a couple of known targets and to scout new young talent.”

“It has been well reported that we are interested in Manchester City midfielder James McAtee, who scored in the win against Spain.”

“Another player who featured in that match and has also been on our radar for a long time—as we first revealed at the end of the last window—is Liverpool’s Tyler Morton.”

West Ham could have a realistic shot at landing Morton, given Liverpool’s recent heavy transfer spending as they look to strengthen under new boss Arne Slot. With competition for places intensifying at Anfield, Morton may either be sold or sent out on loan for a third consecutive season.
