Sixers could trade Paul George during 2025 NBA Draft

Philadelphia 76ers are reportedly considering trading Paul George during the 2025 NBA Draft to move back in the draft order.

Philadelphia 76ers may be considering a surprising move involving Paul George during the upcoming 2025 NBA Draft.

According to Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated, the Sixers are exploring the possibility of using their No. 3 overall pick as part of a deal to move back in the draft—and George could be included in that package.

“I don’t know what Philadelphia is going to do here,” Mannix said on the Bill Simmons Podcast. “Do they just sit on that draft pick and take it? Or do they try to package it?

“Is Paul George in play? I’ve heard some of that over the last 24 hours, that they could be looking to trade back with Paul George to do something there,” he added.

He averaged 16.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 4.3 assists over 41 games, shooting 43.0% from the field and 35.8% from three-point range. This came after signing a four-year, $211 million deal with the Sixers last summer.

The Sixers finished the regular season with a disappointing 24-58 record, missing the playoffs for the first time since 2017.

Injuries and lack of chemistry played a role, with George, Joel Embiid, and Tyrese Maxey sharing the court in just 15 games all season.
