Tottenham defender Ben Davies could potentially move to Leeds United this transfer window after developments in North London.
Reports were linking the Spurs star to a move to Elland Road as a free agent, but the Europa League winners ended up extending his deal for another year.
Daniel Farke could lose Junior Firpo soon, and the Whites must find a quality replacement for the Dominican Republic international if he leaves.
While Davies has played as a centre-back, he has spent the majority of his career on the left-hand side of the defence, and an exit may be on the cards in the coming weeks.

Davies’ record at Tottenham last season.
Speaking on Gold & Guest Talk Tottenham, the journalist said: “There still may be another departure. Davies has had the extra year taken up on his contract, but I’m not entirely sure that guarantees he stays. I think that’s just the club protecting itself.
“There are the likes of Leeds who have been looking at him. And maybe the fact that Takai can play on the left of a back pairing kind of maybe frees him up to head off if a good move comes in.”
Farke should consider other transfer options at Leeds for defensive reinforcement
Firpo’s exit from Leeds will arguably be a significant blow for them, but it looks like Real Betis are poised to sign him as a free agent.
Sam Byram’s future at Elland Road is also uncertain, as his contract expires soon, potentially creating a headache for the recruitment team as they seek reinforcements.
Not only will the West Yorkshire outfit need to find a first-choice right-back, they may also need to sign a backup if Firpo and Byram leave.
Adam Underwood already has a lot on his plate at Leeds after being appointed as sporting director, and agreements should be found for both defenders.
While Davies possesses a lot of experience, he’s undoubtedly past his prime and the funds required to get the 32-year-old could be better spent bolstering another area of the pitch.
Tottenham haven’t used the Wales international as a starter for a few years now, and he may not suit Farke’s attacking brand of football as a left-back.
The Whites still have time to convince Firpo to stay at Elland Road, and it remains to be seen what the future holds in LS11.
