According to ESPN's Brian Windhorst, if Boston decides to trade either Jaylen Brown or Derrick White, it’s likely to happen before the draft begins.
“The reason today is the day the decisions are probably going to get made is because you have teams in the top 10 who are making offers,” Windhorst said on First Take. “The top 10 in the draft tonight, and you’d potentially be able to get replacement players, and a draft pick.”
Windhorst added that Boston’s front office, led by Brad Stevens, may or may not be sold on one of the top prospects, but the opportunity to retool with a high draft pick is certainly on the table.
While Windhorst didn’t name specific teams, the San Antonio Spurs (No. 2), Philadelphia 76ers (No. 3), Charlotte Hornets (No. 4), and Utah Jazz (No. 5) are seen as potential suitors.
The Dallas Mavericks, who are expected to land Cooper Flagg at No. 1, are considered unlikely to be involved in this scenario.
