Manchester United are set to cut their wage bill by more than £17million after confirming several first-team players will leave the club this summer, sources have told Football Insider.
Man United are looking to free up space in their squad for a wave of new signings following their disappointing campaign.
Ruben Amorim’s side missed out on qualifying for European football after finishing 15th in the Premier League table and losing the Europa League final.
United confirmed earlier this month Christian Eriksen, Victor Lindelof and Jonny Evans would leave the club when their contracts expire on 30 June.
However, BBC Sport reported on 23 June Evans is in line to remain at Old Trafford in a staff role.
It said the 37-year-old is in advanced talks with United over a position that would see him look after the loan deals put in place for younger players.

Man United turn attention to signing Emiliano Martinez alternative
In terms of a potential incoming, Football Insider revealed on 25 June United are weighing up a move for Lille goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier this summer.
Chevalier has emerged on the radar at Old Trafford as a deal for Emiliano Martinez is looking increasingly unlikely.
Aston Villa are also keen on the Frenchman as a potential replacement for the Argentina international.
Football Insider revealed on 19 June Martinez has his “heart set” on joining Atletico Madrid, even though United’s interest remains alive.
