'Special': Bernardo Silva says he is actually a 'big fan' of Manchester City wonderkid

Bernardo Silva has had the pleasure of playing with a whole host of outstanding young players throughout his career.

At Manchester City, the names that stand out are Phil Foden and Cole Palmer in particular, as they have both gone on to star players in the Premier League.

Last season, Nico O’Reilly earned praise from Bernardo after he broke through into City’s first-team and impressed as well.

During Bernardo Silva’s time at AS Monaco, he played with Kylian Mbappe amongst others, who is widely classed as one of the standout players in the past decade.

Bernardo admired Joao Neves after playing with him in the Portuguese national team, who has developed into one of the most exciting young midfielders in Europe.

Bernardo Silva raves about Man City youngster Oscar Bobb

Oscar Bobb is another special player who the six-time Premier League winner has had the privilege of playing alongside.

Bernardo lauded Bobb earlier and hinted that Pep Guardiola should have given him more of a chance during the 2023/2024 season.

Matheus Nunes has praised Bobb in his latest documentary produced by the club and now the City legend maestro has sung his praises once again, saying: “I’m a big fan of Oscar…in pre-season [2024], he arrived and you could see he was ready to be one of the main players.”

“I think Oscar would’ve made a big difference [during the 2024/2025 season had he not suffered an injury]; the impact in pre-season, the energy he was giving was very special.”

Oscar Bobb names Bernardo Silva as his role-model

Bobb confirmed his future at Manchester City by admitting that he intends to stay.

With Bobb idolising Bernardo, he could now have a chance to learn plenty from the 30-year-old.

The youngster said: “I think Bernardo. He’s a player I want to play like and I think his quality is crazy and I just want to learn from him.”
