Aston Villa prepared to let young stars depart to ease Psr pressure

The duo, both aged 22 and part of the club’s 2021 FA Youth Cup winning team, are among the players who could be sold in order to raise funds and ease the pressure posed by profit and sustainability regulations.

Full-back Kesler-Hayden has suitors both at the bottom end of the Premier League and the top half of the Championship after impressing while on loan at Preston.

Barry, meanwhile, scored 16 goals in League One for Stockport during the first half of the campaign before moving to Hull, where he suffered a season-ending injury after making just four appearances.

Neither player would command huge fees but both would be banked as pure profit in the club’s accounts having come through the academy ranks.

Villa also want to move on Leander Dendoncker permanently, while they are still waiting to hear whether RB Leipzig will trigger their £9million option to buy right-back Kosta Nedeljkovic.

Failure to qualify for next season’s Champions League has restricted Villa’s room to manoeuvre with PSR, though the problem is not thought to be anywhere near so acute as 12 months ago, when only the late £42.5m sale of Douglas Luiz ensured they avoided a breach.
