Diarra expected to clear medical despite ankle injury last season

While the Whites may take a closer look at his ankle issue from last season, Dr Brar does not see it causing any issues with his medical.

Leeds tabled a bid of £21.8million for Diarra, which was turned down by the Ligue 1 club. (L’Equipe, 9 June)

Leeds United need to bring in a midfielder like Diarra this summer

Signing a midfielder like Diarra is crucial for Leeds United‘s Premier League survival push in the 2025/26 season.

Diarra, a 21-year-old box-to-box midfielder, brings athleticism, versatility and leadership, having captained Strasbourg to a seventh-place Ligue 1 finish.

His ability to progress the ball, make forward runs, and disrupt opposition play adds a dynamic edge Leeds’ midfield currently lacks, complementing Ethan Ampadu and Ao Tanaka.

With Josuha Guilavogui and Joe Rothwell departing, Leeds need depth and quality to avoid relegation.

Diarra’s four goals and five assists last season, plus his Senegal international experience, make him a high-potential signing to bolster Daniel Farke’s squad, providing the physicality and control essential for Premier League competitiveness.
