Chelsea have held new and positive negotiations with Borussia Dortmund over Jamie Gittens in the last few hours.
That’s [according to journalist Florian Plettenberg](https://x.com/Plettigoal/status/1937913658434326550), who reports that Dortmund’s negotiations were led by director of football Sebastian Kehl.
According to the journalist, however, there is still no agreement or final decision on Gittens’ future. Dortmund are continuing to demand €65m for the 20-year-old winger.
The German side are confident of getting their asking price as they believe that there are several interested clubs in the player, not just Chelsea. In other words, they think they can create an auction for Gittens this summer.
One potential positive for Chelsea, though, is that there have been no direct talks between Bayern Munich and Dortmund for the player. That’s despite reports saying Bayern were now in the mix.
Earlier today it was reported that Gittens was missing from Dortmund’s squad in the Club World Cup for their final group game against Ulsan.
The official line is that he has an illness, but it was made clear in Germany that this could just be a cover because of talks with Chelsea over a transfer. They’ve certainly taken place today and were positive, but yet to reach any sort of conclusion.
