Report: Wolves eyeing £10m Eredivisie left-back who got double Hugo Bueno's assists in 2024/25

Wolves fans are waiting to see how Vitor Pereira will respond to the club’s sale of Rayan Ait-Nouri.

The Algerian left to join Manchester City in a deal worth around £36 million in total.

Fans have slammed the Ait-Nouri sale for being too cheap, and matters have already been made worse with Ait-Nouri shining on his debut for City at the Club World Cup.

Wolves now have to consider how they’ll move forward.

Hugo Bueno has returned following a loan spell with Feyenoord, and could be an option for Pereira.

Pereira has said he’ll look at Bueno in training, and it will be on him to make a big impression.

Wolves are said to be keeping hold of Bueno, but that does not mean that the club won’t still sign a new player for the position.

And this evening, there is a link to a new player.

It has been claimed by Jeunes Footeux that Wolves are in the mix to sign David Moller Wolfe of AZ Alkmaar.

The reason this claim has been made by a French publication is because they are covering it from a Rennes perspective.

Rennes want Wolfe, having recently sold Adrien Truffert to Bournemouth.

But they say Wolves and Brighton from the Premier League are interested.

It is stated that Wolfe has established himself as one of the most promising left-backs in the Eredivisie in recent times, and is ‘renowned for his sense of positioning, his quality of recovery and his physical commitment’.

He is said to be valued at around £10 million.

Wolves have a potential trump card to play over Wolfe, and that is that Jorgen Strand Larsen plays alongside the defender with the Norway national team.

Wolves transfer target Wolfe is a creative threat

Perhaps Wolves’ attention was caught by Wolfe while their eyes were on Bueno last season.

It will be interesting to see if Pereira orders a pursuit of the 23-year-old, who looks to be something of a creative threat, which would be most welcome after losing Ait-Nouri.

Wolfe scored three goals last term, and also supplied eight assists, which was twice as many as Bueno got for Feyenoord.

Wolfe has racked up quite a lot of games so far in his career despite still only being 23.

Across stints with AZ Alkmaar, Brann and Asane, he has made 152 club appearances so far, and has 12 caps for Norway.

Encouragingly, there has barely been an injury to speak of so far, which adds to his appeal.

Wolves have also been linked with Gerard Martin at a similar valuation, but the durability and physicality (Wolfe is 6ft 1in tall) might be something that sits well with Pereira.
