Freya Godfrey Set for Arsenal Exit? Multiple Offers Accepted

According to Kathryn Batte, both London City Lionesses and Aston Villa have submitted bids for Freya Godfrey. The attacking midfielder joined Arsenal at the age of 12 and made her senior debut in May 2023 against Brighton, signing her first professional contract just a month later.

Freya Godfrey has spent time on loan at Ipswich Town, Charlton Athletic, and most recently London City Lionesses, where she gained valuable playing time and experience.

On the international stage, she has represented England from the U14 level all the way up to the U23s, captaining the U19 squad during the Women’s EUROs. In 2024, she earned her first call-up to the U23 national team.

More Arsenal Transfer News: Chloe Kelly

According to David Ornstein of The Athletic, Chloe Kelly is in talks with Arsenal over a potential permanent move. The England international has instructed her representatives to prioritize discussions with Arsenal before exploring offers from other clubs. Ornstein reports that the proposed deal could span three years.

Arsenal confirmed ongoing talks

Earlier in June, Arsenal published their updated squad list, confirming which players were departing and who was still in contract negotiations. Chloe Kelly was listed among those in active discussions.

Kelly joined Arsenal on loan in January and made an immediate impact. At the time, she said: “I want to play football, and it’s important that I stay focused on my job and what I can do on the pitch.”

Since then, she has reconnected with her passion for the game — clearly reflected in her performances. She quickly became a regular starter and a key player for the Gunners.

Currently, Kelly is with the England national team, preparing for UEFA Women’s EURO 2025 in Switzerland. She has allowed Arsenal time to finalize the deal, hoping to resolve her future before the tournament begins — enabling her to focus fully on her international duties.
