Leeds United told to pay £17m to sign key next transfer target - Report

Leeds United want to sign Union SG midfielder Noah Sadiki this summer, but face competition from multiple clubs across Europe.

Midfield is going to be a top priority for Leeds as we approach July, with Ao Tanaka, Ethan Ampadu and Ilia Gruev the only three senior options on the books.

Domestic options might be worth considering, but the club could find much better value for money on the continent.

Leeds United interested in signing Union SG’s Noah Sadiki – asking price revealed

Leeds’ attempts to strengthen in midfield initially took them to France with an optimistic £22million bid for Strasbourg captain Habib Diarra, only to see their interest not lead anywhere as things stand.

He’s not the only target Leeds have in midfield, though, as moving North-West to Belgium, Union SG talent Noah Sadiki is part of the club’s shortlist too.

The 20-year-old DR Congo international is under contract until 2027 with the current Belgian league champions, and his club could be in line for a lucrative sale if Leeds or other clubs back up their interest.

That’s according to The Athletic’s Beren Cross, reporting that Union SG are looking for a €20million (£17million) fee to sell, as Leeds and the rest of a “group of European clubs” monitor the youngster.

Leeds United have great opportunity to land sought-after talent in Noah Sadiki

In adding to the likes of Tanaka, Ampadu and Gruev, Leeds need a hard-working midfielder that is very good against the ball, as well as someone technically secure in several phases of play.

Looking at Sadiki, Leeds would be getting an incredibly energetic presence in midfield to break up play, but also a midfielder that can shift the ball as well under pressure.

At £17million, you’re looking at another signing that could represent very good value for the future as well as an improvement on the squad we’ve currently got.
