West Ham Exclusive: Irons Slam Door on Derisory £17M Transfer Fee

**West Ham** will not accept any lowball offers for defender Nayef Aguerd, [Claret & Hugh](https://www.claretandhugh.info/category/news/) has learnt this afternoon.

The Moroccan centre-back is expected to leave the London Stadium this summer, having informed the club he no longer wishes to play for West Ham.

That news has triggered a flurry of speculative reports suggesting Aguerd could depart for as little as £17 million—or even on loan.

Earlier, we reported that a loan deal is not an option, with the Hammers prepared to insist on Aguerd’s return for pre-season if a suitable offer doesn’t arrive. However, when we asked if there was any chance of a cut-price deal just to get him off the books, we were met with a blunt response from a club insider: “No chance.”

It has been made abundantly clear that a £17 million bid would be immediately rejected—though no specific asking price was disclosed.

Aguerd was signed for over £30 million and enjoyed an impressive loan spell in La Liga with Real Sociedad last season. Rumours of interest from the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona have failed to materialise and it appears there is a lot less interest in the defender than presumably Aguerd himself expected.
