Everton and West Ham United have been linked with a move for Club Brugge defensive midfielder Raphael Onyedika.
The Toffees’ interest in the 24-year-old Nigerian ace makes sense considering they’ve lost Abdoulaye Doucoure, and Idrissa Gueye’s future at the Hill Dickinson Stadium is also uncertain.
The Toffees and the Hammers are reportedly in pole position for Brugge’s Onyedika, with the Belgian outfit looking for around £25million for his sale.
Sources close to the Nigeria international have now revealed the truth behind links to the Merseyside outfit.

It appears that the Merseyside outfit aren’t interested in the Nigerian midfielder at this stage, but it remains to be seen whether their stance will change in the coming weeks.
Moyes will undoubtedly want The Friedkin Group (TFG) to add reinforcements throughout the squad this summer, as they have lost some key players.
Moyes will be worried about expiring contracts at Hill Dickinson Stadium
Gueye’s contract negotiations under TFG haven’t gone smoothly, and several teams are now keeping an eye on his situation at Bramley-Moore Dock.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin is another key player the Toffees could lose soon, with no developments over his new deal yet.
Moyes may also be without Michael Keane at the start of next season, with Wrexham considering a free transfer for the centre-back.
Everton have already lost the likes of Ashley Young and Doucoure as their contracts weren’t extended, leading to a lack of depth in the squad.
The Toffees finished 13th in the Premier League last season, and if they hope to make progress on that, the Scottish manager will certainly need more quality in his squad.
Onyedika feels like the right option for the Blues to pursue if they lose Gueye, which is looking likely right now.
James Garner has formed an impressive partnership with the Senegal international in the engine room, and the Club Brugge midfielder’s robust profile seemingly makes him the perfect replacement for the former Paris Saint-Germain star.
Only time will tell how the situation in L3 unfolds.
