While focus may be on incomings at Manchester United this summer, there is also expected to be several exits from Old Trafford between now and the end of the transfer window.

One of those is winger Alejandro Garnacho. The winger was the subject of interest from both Napoli and Chelsea in the January transfer window, but he remained at United.

However, a fall out with head coach Ruben Amorim means that the Argentine is expected to leave in the current transfer window. He made headline again in the last few days due to a social media post.

In among picture he shared of his holiday was a picture of him posing in an Aston Villa shirt with ‘Rashford 9’ on the back. Marcus Rashford spent the second half of last season on loan at Villa Park and is another player who is expected to leave United this summer.

A lot has been said over Garnacho’s future over the last few days. So, we’ve taken a look at the latest surrounding the winger and a potential transfer.

United decision

United could be willing to drop their asking price for Garnacho this summer, with his social media post reinforcing their desire to sell the winger, according to the Mirror.

The report says that United’s initial valuation of Garnacho was £60million. However there is an ‘acceptance’ that the knowledge from other clubs of their desire to sell means that they are unlikely to get that price.

Instead, £40million is seen as a more realistic fee for the academy graduate. United rejected an offer of that amount from Serie A side Napoli back in January.

Chelsea move

Chelsea appear to be closing in on a deal for Borussia Dortmund winger Jamie Gittens, something that could potentially impact any move for Garnacho this summer.

The Daily Mail report that the Blues are closing in on an agreement for the England U21 international. They previously had a £42million offer turned down by Dortmund.

The report goes on to name Garnacho as a potential alternative if they can’t get the deal over the line. However, it is suggested that the player’s fallings out at United may be a concern for Chelsea.

Double deal

There was, however, talk about a possible move to Chelsea in the Telegraph. The report said that both the Blues and United were weighing up the possibility of two separate deals including Christpher Nkunku and Garnacho.

It is, however, said that there is yet to be direct talks between the clubs over the two deals, with there being no expectation of a swap deal being negotiated between the two sides.

Garnacho is said to be keen on remaining in England and would be keen on a move to Chelsea. The Blues were linked with a move for the winger back in January.

The Manchester Evening News understands Nkunku is not one of United's prime targets for the centre forward role.
