Lakers Favored to Land NBA Champion to Help LeBron James

The Los Angeles Lakers are already shaping their plans for the 2025-26 campaign after a 50-32 finish and a first-round loss in six games at the hands of the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Under head coach J. J. Redick and president of basketball operations Rob Pelinka, the franchise is laser-focused on constructing a supporting cast capable of complementing their burgeoning duo of Luka Doncic and LeBron James.

The latest betting odds via Bovada Sportsbook reveal that one of Stephen Curry's former Golden State Warriors teammates could be on their radar, Andrew Wiggins.

Per Bovada, the Lakers sit atop the board with odds of +185 to land Wiggins this offseason, followed by the Toronto Raptors (+300), Phoenix Suns (+375) and Golden State (+400).

Wiggins was a one-and-done at Kansas before going No. 1 overall to the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2014 NBA draft, only to be traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves soon after.

With the Timberwolves, he went on to win Rookie of the Year, averaging 16.9 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game.

After 5.5 seasons in Minnesota, he was traded to the Warriors, playing a key defensive and secondary scoring role alongside Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green en route to his first NBA title in 2022.

In February, Wiggins was traded to the Miami Heat and finished his 11th season averaging 19.0 points, 4.2 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.2 steals with the Heat.

As offseason chatter begins to heat up, all eyes will be on Pelinka’s trade board.

Bringing in Wiggins would signal that the Lakers remain relentless in their pursuit of a title, willing to bet on a proven champion to strengthen their roster.
