How Tino Livramento performed as Newcastle star helps England reach U21 Euros final

Newcastle United star Tino Livramento is just one game away from winning the European Championship with the England U21s.

Livramento has been a standout for the Young Lions this summer and could follow Anthony Gordon in winning the tournament. Gordon, of course, did it back in the summer of 2023 before returning to Newcastle United a much better player.

Livramento is in a different position. Unlike Gordon at the time, the defender is already one of the best players in the Newcastle United squad.

Still, it’ll be fascinating to see what a starring role for the England U21s will do for the 22-year-old going forward. Potentially winning the tournament can only be a good thing for his development.

On Wednesday, England beat the Netherlands in the semi-final 2-1 to progress into the final. With that in mind, here’s how Livramento got on.

Is Tino Livramento going to stay at Newcastle United?

Manchester City want to sign Livramento, but Newcastle are in a strong bargaining position.

Indeed, Newcastle do not need to sell any of their best players this summer, and the defender still has three years to run on his contract.

Crucially, Livramento is happy to stay at Newcastle. With that in mind, it’s hard to imagine City putting a bid together that genuinely tempts the Magpies into selling unless they offer record-breaking money.

Thankfully, as of right now at least, all the signs appear to be pointing towards Livramento staying at Newcastle.
