The Pittsburgh Steelers have a brand new quarterback in all-time great Aaron Rodgers, and he is already trying to do his best to bond and interact with his new teammates.
Back at the team's mandatory minicamp, the 41-year-old field general said he was inviting his teammates to Malibu to train some before the start of the 2025 season. He recently appeared on The Pat McAfee Show to talk a bit more about it.
"Coming out to Malibu may not be high on everybody's list, but we got some guys coming out next week, so it will be fun to spend a little time with them," Rodgers told McAfee.
One of the players that is reportedly going to be making his way to California to train is the team's brand new star wide receiver, D.K. Metcalf. That is encouraging for Steelers fans to hear, as it will give the two a chance to build a connection before the season, which is essential for a star quarterback-receiver duo.
The Steelers have made the playoffs each of the last two seasons, and Rodgers will be hoping he can help continue that trend and make it three straight. But he is also looking to show that his slow year in 2024 was a fluke.
In his final season with the New York Jets, Rodgers finished with 3,897 yards and 28 touchdowns, which isn't too bad. But it was the 11 interceptions that caught people's eyes, as that is the third-highest mark for picks in the 20-year career of Rodgers.
The future Hall of Famer has said that this may very well be his last season in the NFL, so he will be looking to make it count.
