Turkish champions Galatasaray have contacted Aston Villa plotting a double swoop for two of the club’s top talents, including one of Manchester United’s summer shortlist.

The Super Lig side are preparing themselves for next season where they’ll be attempting to make it four consecutive league titles in a row, matching their current record for longest consecutive run as champions of Turkey.

On top of this, they’re also preparing for the Champions League once again, upgrading from last season’s Europa League campaign where they were knocked out in the round of 32 by Dutch side AZ Alkmaar.

As such, the club are looking to strengthen their defence with the Villa duo being a approached in a raid of Villa Park.

Footmercato has reported that Galatasaray have now contacted Villa over summer moves for both Emiliano Martinez and Lucas Digne.

It’s understood that the Turkish side are looking to agree a deal of between £22 million and £23 million for the pair, directly competing with Manchester United for Martinez.

The World Cup winning goalkeeper is at the top of United’s shortlist to replace Andre Onana as the first-choice keeper at Old Trafford.

United’s pursuit of Emiliano Martinez comes as two extremely problematic seasons for Onana have been a part of the club’s two worst Premier League seasons on record.

As such, Ruben Amorim is keen for a fresh pair of hands between the sticks, seeing the Villa shot-stopper as a clear upgrade for the Cameroon international.

United have already got the “green light” from Martinez for a move to Old Trafford, with The Red Devils now holding talks with Aston Villa to seal a deal.
