A round-up of the latest Premier League transfer rumours - with news from Spurs, Arsenal, Sunderland and Wolves.
With the transfer window in full swing, 3 Added Minutes are back with our latest round-up of all the biggest new Premier League transfer rumours to help you keep track of everything that’s going on – and we’ll start with some news for Liverpool fans.
A new story from Caught Offside suggests while negotiations with Napoli over the transfer of Darwin Núñez continue apace with “non-stop”, the two teams remain relatively far apart in valuation as they haggle over a price tag.
Napoli, apparently, want to pay around €40m (£34m) in total for the striker who was, until the recent addition of Florian Wirtz, their club record signing, but Liverpool want an extra €8m to ameliorate some of their losses on a player who proved to be deeply frustrating over the course of his Anfield career.
The good news for Liverpool is that Darwin remains Napoli’s “clear first choice” with “other targets on hold” - but the bad news is that they may be forced to settle for less than they want if they are to get him off the books during an extensive rebuild. Napoli could switch tack and target Udinese’s Lorenzo Lucca instead, which would be worrying news.
The 3AM Verdict: We suspect that a deal will get done, as Napoli seem to have set their heart on Darwin - but they have played hardball over prices lately, walking away from several deals when the terms didn’t look right to them. If Liverpool insist on getting top dollar, then don’t be shocked if negotiations fall though, which could leave Liverpool in a bit of a hole.
Sunderland open talks over alleged Manchester United target
Up to Wearside now, where Sunderland are working to get their squad up to code ahead of their return to the Premier League – and according to Fabrizio Romano, via GiveMeSport, they could start by signing a player also wanted by Manchester United.
The man in question is OGC Nice goalkeeper Marcin Bulka, and they’ve “opened talks” over a deal despite links to the Red Devils, and it’s claimed that a deal should set them back “in excess of £13m”.
As well as Sunderland and United, several unspecified teams are also tracking the Polish goalkeeper, who could apparently be seen as a “more stable” alternative to current number one Anthony Patterson – who, lest we forget, was linked with United himself.
The 3AM Verdict: It’s a little surprising, perhaps, to see a goalkeeper on Sunderland’s shopping list, but Romano reckons that they’re “in active talks” over a transfer. The price certainly seems reasonable enough for a player who had a fine season in France, but with so little detail on the alleged interest from other teams, it’s hard to gauge whether the Black Cats get this one over the line or not.
Dutch club pushing to sign Wolves star
We’ll wrap up with a story suggesting that Wolves may lose a potentially important defender ahead of the new season – Sport Witness relay reports from the Netherlands which suggest that Feyenoord “haven’t given up” on striking a permanent deal for 22-year-old Huge Bueno.
Bueno, who enjoyed an impressive loan spell at the Dutch club last season, is said to be the main target to replace Burnley-bound Quilindschy Hartman, with Robin van Persie, Feyenoord’s manager, apparent a big fan.
A deal “is not seen as easy”, however, as Wolves intend to make use of Bueno to help fill the void left by the departure of Rayan Aït-Nouri – and it’s said that Feyenoord’s chances are “slim”. They’re still set to try, however, and persistent bids could have a destabilising effect.
The 3AM Verdict: Although not necessarily the most important player at the Molineux on paper, there are signs that Bueno could well be ready to replace Aït-Nouri and play a big role next season, so the last thing Wolves want is agents and other clubs in the Galicia international’s ear. Yes, Galicia international, that’s a thing. In any case, it sounds as though Wolves intend to hold firm.
