Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba is closing in on a return to football, with the Frenchman set to join Ligue 1 side Monaco.
The 32-year-old has been without a club since leaving Juventus in November last year. He is now able to return to playing football after serving a ban.
He was initially banned for four years after testing positive for DHEA. He has the punishment reduced to 18 months on appeal.
Pogba was permitted to return to football back in March but has not had a club, despite being linked with a move to several destinations. There was even some talk of a third spell at United.
It now seems that he is close to finding a new home with various reports suggesting that he has agreed a two-year deal with Monaco. Pogba is reportedly set to undergo a medical and complete his transfer this week.
It will be the first time that Pogba has played domestic football in his home country, despite starting his career with Le Harve before moving to United. He is reportedly aiming to break back into the France squad for the 2026 World Cup.

And it seems that his potential move to Monaco has been approved by international teammate Kylian Mbappe. The Real Madrid star has shared a post reporting Pogba’s move on his Instagram channel.
He added in the caption: “Pogback,” with red and white colour emojis, representing the Monaco colours alongside the message "Daghe Munegu". The phrase is a Monégasque one meaning "Go Monaco".
The 26-year-old joined Monaco’s youth teams in 2013 and made 60 first team appearances for the club before moving to Paris Saint-Germain in 2017.
