A federal judge on June 23 convicted Abdurrahim Jalal on five counts connected to the crime and sentencing is scheduled for September, court records show. Court records show Jalal requested a bench trial instead of a jury trial, admitting he was guilty of the crime. He did this to preserve his right to appeal legal issues raised in the case.
