Barcelona president Joan Laporta has offered a positive update on Ansu Fati amid talk of a move to Monaco.
Fati is expected to renew his contract at Barcelona this week and then jet out to Monaco to complete a loan move to the Ligue 1 side.
Laporta has given a brief update on the situation and is expecting the transfer to go through.
“if all goes well, we’ll have good news this week and he’ll be going to Monaco,” he told reporters.
Barcelona and Monaco are said to have reached an agreement to split Fati’s salary for the season, while the transfer will also include a purchase option.
The hope is that Fati can thrive in France and get his career back on track after a tricky time in recent years for the youngster.
Monaco looks a good option for the forward, particularly as the club are back in the Champions League next season after finishing third in Ligue 1.
