Bhayshul Tuten Signs Rookie Deal with Jacksonville Jaguars

Former Virginia Tech running back Bhayshul Tuten has officially signed his rookie contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars, marking the next step in a football journey that began at the FCS level and culminated in a fourth-round NFL Draft selection.

Tuten, selected No. 104 overall in the fourth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, inked a four-year deal worth $5,274,529, including a $1,074,529 signing bonus, according to Spotrac. The contract carries an average annual value of $1,318,632.

The signing bonus is fully guaranteed.

The 5-foot-9, 209-pound back transferred to Virginia Tech in 2023 after spending his first two collegiate seasons at North Carolina A&T. During his time with the Aggies, Tuten rushed for 1,578 yards and 16 touchdowns across 20 games, including a breakout sophomore campaign in which he tallied 1,363 yards and 13 scores.

Upon arriving in Blacksburg, Tuten made an immediate impact. In 2023, he rushed for 863 yards and 10 touchdowns while adding 239 receiving yards and two scores through the air. He followed that up with a standout 2024 season, compiling 1,159 rushing yards on 183 carries (6.3 yards per carry) and 15 rushing touchdowns. He also caught 23 passes for 81 yards and two additional scores, bringing his total to 17 touchdowns from scrimmage.

Over two seasons with the Hokies, Tuten amassed 2,022 rushing yards and 25 touchdowns in 24 games.

Tuten's draft stock rose significantly after a strong pre-draft process. He posted a 4.32-second 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine, the fastest among running backs in the 2025 class. That speed, combined with his production and versatility, made him a priority target for Jacksonville on Day 3 of the draft.

Tuten's ability to contribute as both a runner and receiver, along with his special teams potential, could earn him early opportunities in the Jaguars offensive system.

Tuten was the first Hokie running back drafted since Khalil Herbert in 2021.

With training camp set to begin in late July, Tuten will look to carve out a role in Jacksonville's offense and continue a trajectory that began in Greensboro and flourished in Blacksburg.
