BROOKLYN, New York (KWTX) - Baylor shooting guard V.J. Edgecombe has become the highest draft pick in Baylor Men’s Basketball history after he was drafted third overall by the Philadelphia 76ers in Wednesday’s NBA Draft.
Previously the highest draft pick in Baylor’s history was Ekpe Udoh who was drafted sixth overall in 2010 by the Golden State Warriors.
Edgecombe was consensus five-star prospect and McDonald’s All-American before committing to Baylor.
In his lone season with at Baylor, Edgecombe averaged 15 points, 5.6 rebounds and 3.2 assists and helped lead the Bears to the second round of the NCAA tournament.
