NEW ORLEANS, LA. (WLBT) - The New Orleans Pelicans add young depth to their backcourt with the selection of Oklahoma guard Jeremiah Fears with its first pick of the 2025 NBA Draft.
In the 2024-25 season for the Sooners, Fears averaged an impressive 17.1 points, 4.1 assists, and 4.1 rebounds a night.
Fears was considered one of, if not the biggest riser in this year’s draft due to his abilities all around the court.
Fears is a dynamic guard with a quick attacking style and is known for the many clutch plays he made in his freshman season.
Many draft analyses deemed him a solid two-way guard with immense potential.
The Pelicans still hold the 23rd pick later in the draft.
