Bulls bring in French connection, drafting Noa Essengue No. 12 overall

The Bulls used the No. 12 overall pick on Wednesday to draft French forward Noa Essengue.

Arturas Karnisovas has been adamant in sticking to his plan and building around players that fit the Bulls’ new up-tempo style of play.

Position or size be damned.

That was the mentality going into the first round of Wednesday’s NBA Draft, and when the team’s No. 12 overall pick came around that was the mentality that won out, as the Bulls selected athletic forward Noa Essengue.

The 6-foot-9 Frenchman played 30 games for ratiopharm Ulm (Germany), averaging 9.7 points last season, but made his mark as a high-level defender.
