Micic became a part of the Mark Williams trade to the Phoenix Suns. The Hornets traded Williams in exchange for Micic, the No. 29 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft and a 2029 first-round pick.
More importantly, the Suns exercised Micic’s $8.1 million option, meaning that the Serbian guard has an NBA contract for the 2025-26 season.
It was anticipated that Micic will make his return to the EuroLeague this summer.
Micic, 30, joined the Hornets after a trade from the Oklahoma City Thunder last season. The Serbian playmaker has posted 7.5 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 3.5 assists over 36 games for Charlotte.
He made 5 appearances for the Suns, averaging 4 minutes, 0.4 rebounds, and 0.2 assists per game.
