Calls Mount for Sean Marks' Firing After Egor Demin Move

The Brooklyn Nets are just a few years removed from having a superstar trio of Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and James Harden. This group had championship aspirations, but peaked with a second round exit against the Milwaukee Bucks in 2021, as injuries and other issues limited one of the most talented trios in league history.

Now, Brooklyn has missed the playoffs in consecutive seasons. The Nets entered Wednesday night with the No. 8 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft. Different mock drafts had the Nets taking different players, but they surprised many by selecting 6-foot-9 forward Egor Demin out of BYU.

ESPN's mock draft had Demin going No. 13 overall, with the Nets selecting Tre Johnson with the eighth pick. While fans had differing opinions on who Brooklyn should have selected, many are upset with this choice, and want general manager Sean Marks fired because of it.

"I have no words," said one fan. "Fire Marks. Sell the team."

"Sell the team @joetsai1999 fire Marks," one implored. "Team is ran like absolute trash!"

"FIRE SEAN MARKS AND SELL THE TEAM," said another.

"That whole trash season for Egor Demin, yeah it’s time for Marks to go," one added.

In his lone season at BYU, Demin averaged 10.6 points, 3.9 rebounds and 5.5 assists. Marks has continued taking heat on social media from Nets fans.

"Get rid of Marks. Fire Marks Fire Marks," said another.

"FIRE MARKS," another wrote.

"Please just fire Sean marks before this night is over," one said.

"Lmao fire Sean Marks," another added.
