Now that Dylan Harper will be a new resident of San Antonio, he has a lot to learn. There will be plenty of time to get acquainted with the city, but he'll need to get familiar with his teammates, most importantly. Nobody knows that better than the team leader, Victor Wembanyama, who wasted no time calling his new playmaker to introduce himself in classic Vic fashion.

"I play for the Spurs. My name's Vic," Wembanyama told Harper. Everyone remotely familiar with basketball knows who the towering Frenchman residing in the 210 is, but that doesn't matter. He's going to introduce himself anyway. Fans will remember that 7'4" phenom had a similar conversation with Stephon Castle when he was selected fourth overall last season.

If those put a smile on your face like they did mine, you have the right vibes for the time we're in. The Spurs made a couple of great moves today. They added perfect pieces to what they're trying to build. As long as everyone lives up to their potential, the sky doesn't come close to the limit. Let's talk about outer space.
Spurs are building the right vibes for a title team
Everyone looks so happy when they get selected by San Antonio these days. Getting a chance to play next to Wembanyama would probably have that effect on most prospects. It's important, though. The vibes in the locker room have to be immaculate for a team to have their best shot at winning a championship.
After OKC won their title, Jalen Williams was asked about what was most satistfying from the season, and his response was, "Giving the team my time." He detailed how often they spent time together; going to dinners and hanging out was common for the eventual champions. Spurs fans know this.
Those Big 3 teams were close. Their relationships were forged in fire, and their love for each other propelled the team higher than would have been possible otherwise. The new era can be just as successful, but they'll have to love each other like the old guard did, and it can start with something as simple as a joke on a phone call.
