On Wednesday night, the best player on last year's Michigan State basketball team, Jase Richardson, heard his name called in the NBA draft and learned where his new home would be. At pick 25, the Orlando Magic took the Spartan shooting guard.

Looking at the depth chart, Orlando has newly acquired Desmond Bane as their starting SG. Jase will have a chance to earn the backup spot behind Bane. He will be competing against a former um player, Caleb Houstan. In his three years with the Magic, he has averaged four points per game. Jase out to be able to overcome him to earn the backup role.

Elsewhere in the draft, Jeremiah Fears, the younger brother of MSU PG Jeremy Fears Jr, was picked 7th by the New Orleans Pelicans.
