Yang Hansen was selected 16th overall by the Portland Trail Blazers in the NBA draft in New York on Wednesday, just the ninth Chinese player to ever be drafted.
The Memphis Grizzlies had earlier traded the rights to 16th pick away to Portland, sending two first-round picks and two second-rounders to the Trail Blazers for the No 11 overall selection, which they used to take Washington State guard Cedric Coward.
