Barcelona are planning on sending Ander Astralaga out on loan to Granada for the 2025-26 campaign.
According to Gerard Romero, the goalkeeper is set to head to the club this week for a medical and will then complete his move.
The hope is that 21-year-old Astralaga can enjoy playing regularly next season in the second division and continue his development.
The move means that Diego Kochen looks set to be Barcelona Atletic’s goalkeeper next season under new manager Juliano Belletti.
The 19-year-old American is a highly-rated talent and is seen by many as a future first-team goalkeeper at Barcelona.
Kochen signed a new long-term contract at Barcelona earlier this year, that runs until 2028, which highlights the club’s faith in him.
Of course, Barcelona still have decisions to make regarding their first-team stoppers, with Joan Garcia, Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Inaki Pena and Wojciech Szczęsny all still on the the books.
