Celtic-linked Mathias Kvistgaarden update

Brondby director Benjamin Schmedes has reiterated that there is plenty of interest in the club’s top marksman Mathias Kvistgaarden.

But Schmedes explained that the Danish forward is not yet on the verge of being sold at this stage of the transfer window.

Celtic have been linked with signing Kvistgaarden for almost two years now, and pushed to sign him in January this year.

Schmedes said: “It doesn’t surprise me that there is great interest in him from many teams, but I can’t say that he is close to being sold or that he is far from being sold either.

“That’s because it is an ongoing process and the most important thing is that we are very transparent in our dialogue with each other.”

Celtic won’t receive Ben Doak transfer windfall

Liverpool’s Ben Doak has been linked with moves to Premier League rivals Everton, Crystal Palace and Bournemouth this summer.

But it is being reported that Liverpool value the Scotland winger at £25m, which appears to be putting the three aforementioned clubs off.

Doak left Celtic for Anfield in March 2022 for a compensation fee. And that means the Hoops were unable to insert a sell-on clause in the youngster’s Liverpool contract.

Aston Villa ‘prepared’ to sell Louie Barry

Celtic were linked with signing Aston Villa winger Louie Barry in January on loan for the rest of last season.

Instead, he moved to Hull City in the EFL Championship as they only just avoided relegation to England’s third tier.

Now, Villa are reportedly willing to cash in on Barry due to concerns over the Premier League’s Profit & Sustainability Rules (PSR).

Could the Bhoys revitalise their interest in Barry? Would that mean abandoning transfer talks with Royal Antwerp for Michel-Ange Balikwisha?
